On the map you'll see various cartoon characters. These characters are markers for the locations at which their creators were born. Click them to find out more information about the character.

It took me a total of 6 hours to go from total ignorance of the Google Maps API to implementing this. I can't honestly say if that's due to the simplicity of the API or if it's just an indicator of my ability to pick things up quickly. I'll let others make that judgement.
